A solid day for team Rapisarda in E-Town.

Cory McClenathan and Rapisarda Racing occupy 16th spot after day one of qualifying for the 2012 Toyota NHRA SuperNationlals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey.

Mclenathan’s opening pass for the weekend of 3.94/309.49 mph, good for tenth place in the 21 car field was  “a solid clean run,” according to McClenathan.

For the second session the team decided to run new rubber  and improved with a strong lap of 3.86/305.77 mph. however slipped down the charts to finish in 16 th place a spot behind ”Aussie” Dave Grubnic.

“We dropped a cylinder at 1.4 seconds into the pass, just before half –track,” according to McClenathan. “ The team was pleased with the run particularly as we didn’t damage any parts and we were able to get some good data for tomorrow. The car is strong and the team is just chipping away each time we run. Tomorrow we get two more qualifiers and the team is confident we can stay in the field and even move up the ladder.”
