Local Western Sydney team Angry Lemons Racing and driver John Kabboura are ready to go for the upcoming Nitro Champs at Sydney Dragway, as he and his team continue to gain momentum in their Pro Stock campaign.

In testing, the team recently recorded a strong personal best of 7.12 a clear indication that their persistence in this class is starting to pay off. After spending time developing and refining the setup of their Cavalier, Angry Lemons Racing are finally making strides in their program. Testing has allowed them to get on top of the tune up, with steady progress being made on chassis, clutch, and engine setup.

Kabboura, who’s no stranger to the Sydney Dragway quarter-mile, has competed at the venue multiple times throughout his career, but enters the third round of the Pro Stock Championship at the Nitro Champs with renewed confidence in the car. Last season, the team came incredibly close to toppling national record holder Chris Soldatos in a side-by-side thriller.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t get to take the national record holder down in our debut, but it was a good indication of what could happen if we stick with it,” said Kabboura

What stands out most is the team’s commitment to Pro Stock. While the category demands immense technical knowledge, time, and resources, Kabboura and Angry Lemons Racing remain fully invested in their long term goals. Their program is built on patience, precision, and a drive to continually improve—and with each lap, they’re narrowing the gap to the leaders.

Looking beyond Sydney, the team is planning for more outings in their Chev Cavalier, with plans to take on the remaining rounds at Willowbank and The Bend. With testing data in hand and momentum building, Kabboura is emerging as a contender in the incredibly tight Pro Stock field.

“We did not want to travel with the car until we had a baseline setup to build off. Now that we have that setup, we are looking forward to refining it and trying to step it up round by round,” said Kabboura.

As the Nitro Champs approach, fans can expect to see the yellow Pro Stock Cavalier back on track and don’t be surprised if it turns heads once again. John Kabboura and Angry Lemons Racing aren’t just participating, they’re on a mission to extract everything they can out of the car and bring the fight to the big names in Australian Pro Stock drag racing.
