If you love insanely fast sedans, Sydney Dragway has some of the best in the country racing this weekend at the Atura Championship Series on Saturday April 16.

Paul Mouhayet with the Moits Racing Mustang needs no introduction, the quickest and fastest turbo car in the land has some new gear on board and is set for kill.

Following a string of 5.8 second passes last weekend Mouhayet will be looking to attack his own turbo record mark, with the cooling temperatures and superbly prepared racing surface creating ideal history making conditions.

The five second GAS Motorsport twin turbo Mustang driven by Zoran Gajic will also be on track to keep Moits honest, as they hunt for a return to quicker five second blasts themselves.

Michelle Davies, Australia’s quickest lady on 10.5 tyres will out and wrestling her blown Torana down track to low six second times – a sight not to be missed.

For the Sport Compact fans Joe Signorelli will be heading the imports with his wild Factory Xtreme Supra. Matt Lisle will be trying to tame his unique Rotary powered 200SX as too Phil Kapathios with his flying four cylinder Scion, and Andrew “The Dentist” Maratos is on the brink of squeezing out the first six second 13B Rotary powered pass in Australia running his Pac Performance prepped RX3.

The whine of superchargers will tingle the senses when Supercharged Outlaws take to the track with a strong field of eight blown machines duelling it out.

The high-speed sedan action does not stop with Top Sportsman and Super Sedan boasting big fields and a bevy of seven and eight second rides. Spectators have to check out Stephen Willies’ unique Ford Torino that will be returning to the track after a long layoff – stunning!

Hard and fast racing will continue with Australia’s toughest Sportsman racing through Modified, Super Gas, Modified Bike, Junior Dragster and tough Street Fighter and Bike classes.

While the racing may be serious on track, off track features a family friendly atmosphere both in the grandstand and pit area of the venue. Unlike other motorsports spectators are more than welcome to browse the pits to have a close up look at the vehicles, meet the drivers and take advantage of some great photo opportunities.

On-track action for the round 3 of the Atura Championship Series will kick off at Sydney Dragway from 8.30am to approximately 8.30pm, with spectator entry just $25-Adults, $15-Aged 12-16, FREE-Under 12, $60-Group (2 Adults, 3 x 12-16). For further event information – www.sydneydragway.com.au.
