Eight Queensland Drag Racing Champions have been found amid scorching Saturday temperatures at Willowbank Raceway, following a frenetic day of eliminations-style racing for the final round of the QDRC for 2015.

Queensland’s Greg Leahy will be in attendance along with the rest of the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car brigade for the 2015 season finale – the Aeroflow Triple Challenge event on December 12.

New Zealand’s Morice McMillin has driven some fast cars during his drag racing career but last Sunday the affable Kiwi had his first taste of nitro whilst completing licencing passes at Sydney Dragway and for him and his crew, the Aeroflow Triple Challenge can’t come soon enough.

Jess Turner Motorsport (Epping, Victoria) will make the jump from Group Three Modified racing to Group Two Competition Eliminator at Round 5 of the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series in Mildura next week (Decemeber 4-5). 

  Summit Racing Equipment Junior Dragster racer Daniel ‘BatDan’ Carranza (South Morang, Victoria) has come a long way since making his debut at the 43rd Westernationals in 2014.

Round 4 of the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series comes to Warwick Dragway this weekend (November 28-29) marking the first time the eighth-mile drag strip has hosted a National Championship event.

Parkhurst Modified Bike racer Ace Edwards hasn’t twisted the throttle a great deal of late. But when your last two events include a Winternationals win and a runner up several months later in Sydney at the East Coast Nationals, you still come to Warwick Dragway this weekend as one of the favourites.

The home of the largest championship drag racing event held outside of North America – Willowbank Raceway – will move all of its activities to International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) sanctioning from 1 December 2015.

ANDRA Drag Racing comes to Warwick Dragway for the first time next week when the Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series hits the eighth-mile track.
