BATMOBILE RIDES AGAIN

This article brought to you by:

Peter Kapiris’ original record holding Batmobile Studebaker is returning to the track in Pro Mod. Owned by Jason Cunliffe, the iconic car has been meticulously updated by Jeff Cutajar and is ready to rumble as unveiled by Wade Aunger.

Originally built for Peter Kapiris by Murray Anderson in 1998 inspired by Scotty Cannon’s legendary version, the Batmobile rocked the world with a 6.07 in early 00s and was the quickest doorslammer in the world for three years. The car was eventually sold to engine builder Cunliffe where the car has sat idle for many years until Cutajar said it’s time to bring the historic doorslammer back to life late last year.

The end results looks as wicked as the day it originally rolled out of Anderson’s shop, when on track, Cutajar will be having a steer before Cunliffe – who is used to driving an alcohol funny car – will strap in.
