Pro Stock will not contest a championship round at Adelaide International Raceway’s VPW Racer Payouts Pro Series 1000 this weekend with entries falling below the minimum required.
ANDRA releases a statement to media advising that due to some teams not having important parts arrive from the US on time and another needing to complete licencing, the Pro Stock bracket was left in the unfortunate situation where there wasn’t enough cars available event to be classed as a championship round.
Five entries nominated for the event in advance, an extraordinarily low count for a bracket which has typically been Group One’s strongest in numbers.
The dropping of the round means Pro Stock will have only two championship rounds for the shortened 2015 season.
Lee Bektash’s Dodge Avenger, the first to break the 6.8 second zone and 200 mph barrier in Australia, and Emilio Spinozzi’s Chevy Camaro will match race for the crowd however, vying to run the first six second and 200mph passes at AIR.
