The world’s quickest Commodore will return to Perth Motorplex this weekend, with the aim to bounce back from a two month stretch that Maurice Brennan will file away as character building.
“It’s times like this that you really have to dig deep and the emotional roller coaster of competing in our first ANDRA Pro Series event, to crashing the trailer on the way home, to last meeting’s list of mediocre mid-sixes; it really is the stuff that either builds you or breaks you, but we’re determined to bounce back this weekend,” said an optimistic Brennan.
“It seems crazy that we know how to make a car in AA/AP trim run faster than when it’s in Doorslammer spec, but to go three steps forward, we’ve had to take a step back.”
Despite the emotional undulation of the last month, the Boomeracing Team have found some gold in the fire to keep their spirits up.
“Just when you think the chips are down, one of our faithful partners in Famlonga Building Contractors stepped up his support really significantly, which is just the shot in the arm we needed. Crown Integrated also have loaned us one of their fleet of vans for us to keep on flying the flag for our supporters,” Brennan said, citing his sponsors far more as indispensable racing partners.
“On top of that, we received some great coverage on the ANDRA Pro Series show on ONE-HD from the Doorslammer round and we sold a truckload of our new t-shirts at the last meeting which gave us a strong signal that the fans are right behind us and are barracking for us to get back into the form that earned us the National Records, so we’re looking forward to really putting on a show with Joondalup Carpet Court an K-Trans on board as well.”
The world’s quickest Commodore will take to the Perth Motorplex quarter mile for eliminations in K-Trans Top Comp this Saturday from 6pm as part of the Motorplex “Night of Fire” that will feature the Wheelstanding Commodore Ute, a Burnout demo in the Snakepit and the a huge Fireworks Display to round out a great night of fire-burning motortainment!
