The first event of the new NDRC season raced out of the blocks this weekend with the biggest entry list in Australian drag racing for 2026 so far seeing 170 racers – including almost 150 sportsman racers – hitting Willowbank Raceway for the opening rounds of the new NDRC XPRO Nitro Funny Car, Pro Alcohol, and Aeroflow National Sportsman Championship title chases.

Season three of the National Drag Racing Championship (NDRC) is firing into life this Australia Day weekend at the Pro Alcohol Nationals and it isn’t time for the action to let up yet, with a full day of Pro Alcohol Nationals racing at Willowbank Raceway to come on Sunday 25 January.
Sydney Dragway turned back the clock with Bangers & Mash, polishing up the nostalgia drag racing scene in style. The event paid tribute to the pioneers and eras that shaped the sport, with wheelstanding gassers, nitro-charged funny cars and altereds lighting up the track. Off-track, chrome bumper classics, flame-throwing cacklers and rock ’n’ roll vibes kept the old school spirit alive for one unforgettable day at the strip.
The first ANDRA Christmas Trees of 2026 have been hoisted in celebration as round six of the 2025/2026 ANDRA Regional Sportsman Championship – the South Coast 660 at South Coast Raceway – came to a close Saturday Jan 3rd.
ANDRA drag racers have turned it on under beautiful blue skies at South Coast Raceway today for the first day of ANDRA Regional Sportsman Championship competition for 2026.
While Saturday at South Coast Raceway may have been decidedly soggy at times, Sunday saw the 165+ ANDRA Regional Sportsman Racers greeted by perfect sunny weather conditions for the final day of the South Coast Nationals.
It has been a somewhat tumultuous year for the Queensland Drag Racing Championship. Over half the events to date finished with out much of result due a luckless run with the weather, this weekend (Nov 14) the teams shape up for season’s Grand Final which will be in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
2025 Street Machine Magazine Drag Challenge criss-crossed the southern states once again with record entries fronting up for the epic five day drag racing adventure.
The Sydney Dragway NSW Championship has been powering along, with rounds five and six wrapped up over the past couple of months — now it’s all building toward the big finish, with the penultimate round set to hit the track this weekend.
