A full day of Aeroflow National Sportsman Championship qualifying has provided the perfect start to the four-day (6 – 9 June) Gulf Western Oil Winternationals – the largest championship drag racing event held outside of the US – at Willowbank Raceway today.
It has been many months since a slick has been turned in anger at Willowbank Raceway, but with the track renovations completed the racing is back, and it has all started with the Winternationals teasing Winter Warm Ups.
Double the nitro at the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs more than delivered when it came to crowd-pleasing action at Sydney Dragway at the weekend, setting a perfect stage for the upcoming NDRC season finale at the Gulf Western Oil Winternationals (June 6-9).
Day two of the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs more than delivered on its history-making promise today at Sydney Dragway, with plenty more nitro double action still to come on Sunday under beautiful blue skies.
The next two days at Sydney Dragway will bring NDRC history to the fore with double the nitro to hit the track across Saturday and Sunday for the Gulf Western Oil Nitro Champs.
Mildura comes alive with horsepower every Easter when multiple motorsports take over the regional Victorian city for the Easter Powersports Festival, and drag racing features with Atlantic Oils Sunset Strip hosting their premier event of the year, the Atlantic Oils Easter Supercharged Shootout.
In the penultimate round of Perth Motorplex’s local nitro series, Nitro Max, there was some international influence with NHRA star Tommy Johnson Jr in the house running the Speed Torque funny car, the event also hosted the final round of the local Top Doorslammer and Top Fuel Motorcycle Summer Slam Series.
The NSW Championship Series rolls on with round two, and while it is still early days in the season some championship contenders are already emerging.
The Riverbend Nationals was truly a ground-breaking event at Dragway at The Bend at the weekend (April 5-7), bringing no end of incredible racing from the entire line-up.
