In searing hot conditions at Queensland’s Willowbank Raceway, Hydraulink Jim Read Racing rang in 2025 and celebrated Australia Day with a B-Final victory at the weekend.
When it came to ways to celebrate Australia Day 2025, Willowbank Raceway was the place to be at the weekend for the latest round of the NDRC championship, featuring 11,000hp/500+kph Top Fuel Dragsters and XPRO Nitro Funny Cars, as well as the Aeroflow National Sportsman Championship.
Nine 11,000hp/500kmh+ Top Fuel and XPRO Nitro Funny Car racing machines headlined a huge day of NDRC New Year Nitro qualifying action at Willowbank Raceway Saturday, with the stage now set for an epic nitro party to celebrate Australia Day at Queensland’s premier drag racing facility Sunday (26 January).
After a challenging but necessary debut at the 2024 Winternationals, ‘The Pom’ Steve Read is putting that experience behind him and looking forward to a fresh start at Round 2 of the 2025 NDRC New Year Nitro at Willowbank Raceway this January 25–26.
Top Doorslammer continued its Western Swing with NDRC running the bracket’s third championship round as part of the local Perth Motorplex Nitro Slam event. A very healthy 12 doorslammer would fight it out for the first NDRC Gold Christmas Tree of 2025.
