After missing the field by next to nothing at the U.S. Nationals, Shane Tucker and his Auzmet Architectural Chevrolet Camaro team will make their way to zMAX Dragway this weekend for the 10th annual NHRA Carolina Nationals.

It’s been a while since we have seen the Supercharged Outlaw dragster of Victorian Ryan Van Dyk. His last appearance was the 2017 Australian Nationals at Calder Park, and now he’s back for some more excitement in his first points round of the 2017/18 Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series.

Mark Hunt is certainly one of the real characters in our sport. He’s a big man and can look quite intimidating, he drives a bright yellow Supercharged Outlaw Ford Customine, and his passion for drag racing is 110 percent.

The 2nd annual 1/8th Mile Nostalgia Drags event at Mildura’s Sunset Strip (Aug 29th 2017) will be marked down as a huge success with close to 100 old school nostalgia entrants contesting across 8 brackets, a class field of Willy’s for their Nationals and of course the popular fun day which rounded out the event.
Well, it may have started out with chilly temperatures on the morning of the event, but the racers added plenty of heat to Round 2 of the Summit Racing Queensland Championship.

The Rapisarda team’s U.S. Nationals quest ended in round one when the car smoked the tires early against Leah Pritchett. During the first two rounds of qualifying the car had been experiencing brake issues and driver Wayne Newby noted that as the dragging pads heated up the carbon rotors during those runs the brakes became even more effective and that it felt like he had the chutes out early.
The 400 Thunder Sportsman Series has announced that effective immediately, the Sportsman points cap has been increased from 200 points to a 250 point maximum prior to the final round of the championship, the season-ending Gulf Western Oils Winternationals.
