The tenth season of Drag Racing in Western Australia has barely finished but the secret squirrel preparations of racers for the next season are well and truly in action.

The calendar for the 2010/2011 season at Perth Motorplex has been released with every event of the season now to take place over two days.

The industry is a-buzz with the news that certain Top Doorslammer driver has updated his kit.

The finale of the 2010 Northern Territory drag racing season is set to play out at Hidden Valley Drag Strip on Saturday 3 July with entrants received in all competition drag racing classes.

Willowbank Raceway will host its first complete eighth mile race event on Saturday July 3, with the third round of the Nitro Magazine South Queensland Eighth Mile Drag Racing Series set to hit the Ipswich facility.

John Zappia was crowned 2009/2010 ANDRA Top Doorslammer Champion last weekend, after he successfully defended his back to back title by winning the final of the Castrol EDGE Winternationals against point’s leader Robin Judd, with a 5.817 @ 246.93 mph and reset the National Record with a blistering 5.805 @ 246.08 in his semi-final win against Ben Bray.

Iluka’s Maurice Brennan will reflect on the 2009/10 Australian Drag Racing season as his best yet, officially carving a deep notch in motorsport history as the World’s Quickest Commodore.

Alex Buxton made a successful debut in Competion Bike at the Winternationals by setting the AA/CBI mph national record.
