On its way to the Fuchs Winternationals, ANDRA and its transporter will also be holding two further appearances for fans – a display at Masters Lismore (28 Bruxner Highway, Lismore) on Monday 1 June from 12.00pm to 6.00pm, and a display at Plainland’s Schulte’s (4424 Warrego Highway, Plainland – Wednesday 3 June, 12.00pm to 6.00pm). At both displays, a range of racing machines will accompany the ANDRA truck in spreading the word about drag racing and the Fuchs Winternationals. See below for further details.
The Reddacliff Place display will host the Fuchs Top Fuel dragster of Lamattina, the brand new Pro Stock Motorcycle of reigning champion Luke Crowley, the Top Alcohol Funny Car of former champion Steven Reed, and the Top Doorslammer of Wallace Bishop Jewellers CEO and drag racer Stuart Bishop. The drivers of these magnificent machines will also be popping in across the day to chat to passers-by, as Willowbank Raceway and ANDRA promotional staff conduct giveaways, run competitions and more.
The very next day, Lamattina will be joined at the Booval store of Fuchs distributor Burson Auto Parts by seven-time Top Doorslammer champion Zappia and his impressive machine for a meet and greet with race fans including giveaways, question and answer sessions and autograph signings.
“The Fuchs Winternationals has a vibe like no other event in drag racing and the fans feel that too,” said Lamattina. “It’s always good to catch up with racing fans, we have been doing this a while and we even get to see some of the kids grow up over the course of the Fuchs Winternationals events.”
“The City display is a great way to meet some kids and interact with people and tell them about drag racing, Willowbank and the Fuchs Winternationals.”
“The Burson display is great for Fuchs as our major sponsor and a good way to meeting some fans and Burson staff who will be at the event. Burson is one of Fuchs’ biggest partners and we want to bring a big crowd of race fans to one of their stores.”
