Hydraulink Jim Read Racing is pleased to announce that highly respected US company Edelbrock, through its Comp Cams brand, will be supporting the team across the remainder of the 2023/2024 NDRC Top Fuel Championship season.
Hydraulink Jim Read Racing Crew Chief, Bruce Read, said the announcement is testament to the continuing and ever-increasing popularity of the NDRC Top Fuel Championship, which recently opened its 2023/2024 season at the brand-new Dragway at The Bend in front of 35,000 race fans.
This exciting new partnership follows Edelbrock forming a close relationship with Read during his recent tenure as co-crew chief for NHRA racer Clay Millican, whose Rick Ware Racing Top Fuel dragster is sponsored by Edelbrock and Comp Cams.
“Bruce and I got to know each other while he was working with Clay Millican in the US, where I was impressed by his tenacity and skill,” Edelbrock Vice President of Sales, Mark Campbell, said.
“It is clear that Bruce, and by extension Jim Read Racing, shares the same core values as the Edelbrock family, and I couldn’t be happier to be jumping on board to support him and Jim Read Racing in Australia through Comp Cams.
“It is clearly an exciting time for Australian Top Fuel racing, and we are greatly looking forward to working together over the remainder of the season, and hopefully lifting plenty of NDRC trophies in the process!”
Read said the entirety of Hydraulink Jim Read Racing is pleased to be welcoming such an esteemed company to the team as the NDRC Top Fuel Championship prepares for it second of six rounds for the 2023/2024 season.
“Through my association with Clay Millican, Jim Oberhofer and Rick Ware, I was lucky enough to enjoy a tenure with the Clay Millican Top Fuel team in the NHRA recently, where I was pleased to get to know Mark at Edelbrock,” Bruce Read said.
“Working together in the US, it became pretty clear very quickly that we share the same values and also the same commitment to our great sport of Top Fuel racing.
“Having companies such as Edelbrock and Comp Cams backing our sport and its teams is so important, and when those companies and their representatives are so passionate and enthusiastic about what we do in the pits and out on the track, it is really fantastic.
“To have Mark, Edelbrock and Comp Cams on board with us moving forward is a great boost for our team as we get ready for Sydney and the rest of the championship, and we are greatly looking forward to working together as we do all we can to bring home some event trophies, and hopefully another national championship.”
Hydraulink Jim Read Racing will next be on-track for the NDRC Top Fuel Championship on Friday January 26 and Saturday January 27 for the Australia Day Nationals at Sydney Dragway. For event info and tickets, go to ndrc.tv
