Cory McClenathan and Rapisarda Racing occupies15 th spot after two runs on day one of qualifying at the Dollar General NHRA Summernationals at Heartland Park in Topeka, Kansas.

McClenathan making his 415th start in the elite category clocked  3.97/308 mph/h on a track nudging 118F. on his opening run. Then in the cooler evening conditions ran 4.40/185 mph.

“Our opening pass was good,” said McClenathan. “Then we stepped it up and went at it. It was a shame not to take advantage of the conditions. We smoked the tyres at the 330 foot mark but on the positive side we didn’t damage any parts.”

“ It’s going to be a tricky day tomorrow as the heat will pay a big part in the final sessions,” says Santino Rapisarda

“it will test the team to get this car into the field comfortably.”
