Darren Morgan Racing has returned to Mildura following their appearance at the Show Us Ya Wheels car show in the Central Victorian town of Numurkah on Sunday.
The AEG Powertools, Darren Morgan Racing Top Fuel Dragster completed a series of ground shaking start-ups that certainly got the attention of the locals. The event also featured Matt Hall in his Red Bull Air Race plane, a dyno shootout as well as plenty of exhibitors and their cars.
For the second start-up DMR and Shannon’s Insurance ran a competition were everyone who applied for a quote from Shannons went into the draw to sit in the car during the start-up. Shannon Rathbone from Wunghnu won the draw and after being fitted out in Shannons merchandise sat in the car for the final start-up.
“Our show schedule is an important part of our marketing program. For our sponsors such as AEG Powertools and Shannons Insurance these shows enable them to connect with more people in more places,” said Morgan.
DMR have now turned their attention to round three of the ANDRA Pro Series which will be held at Willowbank Raceway in Queensland on the 2-3 of January 2011. DMR will be looking to extend their championship lead in the Queensland heat. Morgan currently leads the ANDRA Top Fuel Pro Series by 10 points over Andrew Cowin.
