Team Rapisarda’s Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals campaign ended with a first round loss at the hands of T.J. Zizzo.
The fledgling Oz team hopes were dashed after dropping a pair of cylinders near three- quarter track. The car limping to the line with a 3.97/298 mph pass.
“After such a great qualifying result for the team to go down in in first round was very disappointing,” said team owner Santo Rapisarda. “We proved this weekend that we can qualify in the top ten and now we need to back that up with round wins on race day. We will regroup and return stronger.”
Next outing for the team is at the Lucas Oil Nationals at Brainerd on August 16-19.
