Saturday March 25 will host an epic East v West Nitro Max showdown at the Perth Motorplex, with local Nitro Funny Car, Dragster and Altered racers to take on visiting members of the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars.
Four AONFC racers will travel to the Motorplex for the March 25 event from their base in Sydney, for what will be a special edition of the BME SpeedTorque Nitro Max Series.
This will be the first time in four years that any members of the AONFC have raced in Perth, with AONFC Marketing Director, Morice McMillan, stating he is very excited to see this battle for bragging rights come alive in a month’s time.
“We have really missed racing in Perth – we love the Perth crowd, the people are just amazing and every time we go there, we have great crowds,” McMillan said.
“After seeing what they are doing with the Nitro Max series over there, we thought what better opportunity is there to go and rekindle the epic East v West battles we used to have with some amazing nitro cars!
“We are bringing over Nitro Express, King Kong, Bandit and One Bad Kiwi, and we can’t wait to hopefully bring home the bragging rights after what are sure to be some intense and crowd-pleasing battles on March 25!
“Not only are we looking forward to entertaining on the track, but we are also pleased to be bringing back the popular Aeroflow Pit Party concept, which is the perfect opportunity for families to come and look at these impressive machines, have the kids sit in them and meet the drivers, and enjoy access to the cars and stars they wouldn’t get otherwise – before watching them racing down the track.”
BME SpeedTorque Nitro Max representative and all-round drag racing legend, Rory Taylor, said Nitro Max – East v West is not to be missed, with an expected six entries to represent the West for a total of a strong 10-entry Nitro Max field.
“We will be bringing a host of our local nitro-powered racing machines to the party for Nitro Max – East v West, including Funny Cars, Altered and Dragsters,” Taylor said.
“It is definitely going to be an exciting event with a great field of nitro cars. It has been a quite a while since we have had the opportunity to race against the guys from over East, and it will be cool to be able to take them on, and at our home track!
“Of course, the West is going to come out on top,” he winked.
“They are seasoned professionals and tough competitors of course, and so it is going to be a great race against some very fast competition, and we all can’t wait.”
Perth Motorplex General Manager, Paul Trengove, said he was excited to see the East v West Nitro Max event take shape.
“Aeroflow have been a key corporate partner of the Perth Motorplex for many years and there is no disputing how cool the Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Car racers are,” Trengove said.
“We can’t wait to see them take on our local nitro-powered heroes for Nitro Max – East v West come March 25.”
