FIRST LOOK: FABIETTI GMSV CAMARO ‘SLAMMER’

The Maurice Fabietti owned AC Delco Slammer Drag Racing Team unveiled their highly anticipated GMSV Camaro doorslammer today at the foothill of Mount Panorama in Bathurst.

Decked out in livery to mirror the new Gen3 Camaro Supercar, Chevrolet Racing announced they are entering drag racing with this factory supported and designed Camaro.

Chevrolet Racing said the new GM designed ‘Slammer’ will compliment the Gen3 Camaro Supercar, and features a 3,500hp supercharged V8 that will propel it over the quarter mile track in under 5.7 seconds at speeds over 410 km/h.

“This is the next exciting addition to the Chevrolet Racing programme. This isn’t a concept or a digital rendering, it’s a real fire breathing Camaro that will debut in professional drag racing competition at the highest level later this year,” said Chris Payne, General Manager Chevrolet Racing.

“I am sure a lot of people were surprised, they were expecting the red, white and blue, but it is something special, we wanted some synergy with the Gen3 Supercar, and to announce Chevrolet Racing to Australia,” added Team Principle Maurice Fabietti.

Driver Sam Fenech will continue to campaign the car for Fabietti, and testing will begin before the car’s competitive debut at East Coast Thunder in November at Sydney Dragway, where it is expected the car will adorn its more traditional AC Delco livery.
