Mark Sheehan is no stranger to the seat of a Top Fuel Dragster or a Nitro Funny Car, but he had a new experience today as he tested the ex-Steve Turner ‘Black Widow’ nitro front engine dragster for the first time.
The first pass was nothing to remember, with wet pipes on the launch.
The second and final run for the day was much more impressive.
The car got off the start line clean and ran through for a 6.15 at 223mph.
Sheehan will be match racing against Michael Brooks this weekend, the first time two nitro front engine dragsters have gone head to head in the west – well, at least in the modern era! He will be doing double duty, also match racing his big show Top Fuel Dragster against Anthony Begley.
