The Final preparations are done, with more than 220 Drag Racing Teams Set to rip and roar down the Perth Motorplex Quarter Mile – headlined with those insane, unpredictable, Nitro Breathing Funny Cars.
Whilst it is two West Aussie combinations going head to head over three bruising Nitro-flamed rounds, both teams come into this with fresh equipment and expert tuners in their respective corners.
Sheehan has in his impressive entourage USA Ace Tuner John ‘Bodie’ Smith – who has literally overseen the assembly of every nook and cranny over the Nitro Mad Man’s car for this one.
Matt Treasure front’s up in Greene Machine – but whilst it’s a familiar name, the car assembled by Allan and Cheryl Greene is brand new and couple that with years of specific Nitro Funny Car experience, it all shapes up as a great showdown under the Perth Motorplex night lights!
However the action doesnt start and stop with the Funny Cars, as always an imposing and impressive Drag Racing contingent returns in a key round of the Perth Motorplex track championship.
In K-TRANS Top Comp, a strong line-up ensues with Rob Pilkington, Pino Priolo, Daniel Gregorini, Alistair McClure, Shane Weston and co. ‘reprezent’ Supercharged Sublimeness – BIG TIME.
However, there are two notable special inclusions – Adam Marchant and Wayne Keys.
Keys – simply because his AA/AP combo is as awesome as it gets and for Marchant, it represents a first-up return since a heartbreaking narrow loss in the Australian Top Alcohol Championship last June, at Queensland’s Willowbank Raceway.
More importantly, it is a welcome filip for Crew Chief Daniel Marchant, who has endured a tough time in regards to his health for some time now.
Seeing the ANDRA National Record Holder in TA/D trim return under the Motorplex Night lights will no doubt please the Marchant Family in general and WA based Drag Racing Fans in particular!
A packed field of 16 stout entries in Harris Engines Super Comp will excite as will Kevin Gummow and co. in Super Cycles Competition Bike.
The A1 Hi-Performance Outlaws always please as will the huge entry lists in Genie Performance Exhaust Super Sedan and Veem Engineering Modified.
