The 2019 Nitto Performance Engineering GT-R Festival hosted by Motive DVD saw over 300 GT-Rs converge on Sydney Dragway, as the event continues to grow as one of the largest gatherings in the world.
There was plenty of Godzilla spotting in the pits and on the track including the man himself, GT-R racing legend Jim Richards.
Aside from the show and shine and trade stands, there was a Motorkana event and of course drag racing.
With racing results a bit hard to come by, we can tell you the quickest car on track was Robert Marjan’s world record holding R32 GT-R. While not eclipsing his current record, he did punt out a six second pass at over 208mph.
Also claiming records for the R35 variety was Lance Tartner cracking the first seven second pass in Australia for the R35 breed and it is a street car.
Racing was not limited to GT-Rs with call outs made to other manufacturers for a variety of heads up challenges. Tony Grgich in his ‘Ghost’ RX3 went 6.82 and 208mph out of the little 13B.
