The Winternationals is biggest drag racing event in Australia next week, and this year it will be the swansong for the 400 Thunder Aeroflow Drag Racing Series, but before we get to the main show, the traditional Winternational Warm Up acts as a prelude. Check out the action and some of the results from day one’s action.

As usual there was a high contingency of racers from the Professional classes with a few runs of note.

Quickest run of the day went to Brandon Gosbell in the Rocket Industries Top Fuel Funny Car, with a 4.95 at 256MPH. Anthony Begley also took to the stage for an early shutoff 5.31 after battling tyreshake on a previous lap.

Peter Lovering made some laps in the Shoebox Pro Slammer finishing the day with a best of 6.05 as the team hunt for their first five second time card.

Word is Andrew Searle successfully completed his licensing with a couple of high five second passes in his Pro Alcohol Funny Car. While Greg Clayton was the quickest of the Pro Alcohol field with a 5.76, as he substitutes for driver and part-owner Mark Rowland.
