The radial tyre racer army has descended on Willowbank Raceway where a whole heap of cash is on offer to be won through tonight’s King of the Kids, tomorrow’s Rumble In the Jungle and Radial Riot itself as part of the Kenda Tires 660 Drag Radial Series. It’s going to be a wild two day’s of action.
An evening of testing last night gave a glimpse of the action ahead with Outlaw Radial three second ETs already dropped from Paul Merry (3.83) and Mat Grubisa (3.92) as they first prepare for tonight’s King of the Kids shootout for $10k. The shootout will also welcome back Ben Bray in a comeback with his Corvette doorslammer on radial shoes, the Corvette was the first radial car over 200mph in Australia.
Radial Riot proper gets it on tomorrow, but first will be preceded by Rumble in the Jungle early in the morning where 64 radial streeters will duke it out for $25k over a brutal five consecutive rounds of racing with no breaks. That means no refuelling, no tow cars, no time wasting, just racing to the 1/8th on a 6.40 index winner takes all.
