The Sydney Jamboree hits Sydney this Saturday, and if the madness from today’s test day is a prelude then you won’t want to miss it – check it out.
We saw five second passes out of the now former Moits 10.5 Mustang (recently purchase by Gerry Sarafoglou). Jeremy “Jet” Martin lived up to his name sporting a new paint job on the VB Commodore running 6.07. We saw a bunch of six second passes from the likes Gerry Sarafoglou in the LS powered Holden ute, the Castle Hill Performance twin turbo LSX RX3 on radials and Nikki Hepburn in her radial Toyota 86.
A few out of control burnouts provided some wild moments, as did Kelly Bettes blowing the door off the Datsun ute in a effort to run another six.
Nikki Hepburn while running personal bests, nearly suffered a case of de-ja-vu when her 86 nearly repeated her big accident at last year’s event, fortunately Nikki managed to catch it on time to some loud cheers, keeping the car of the wall.
Not so lucky was Danny Lansdowne in the Spot On Performance VL wagon. After providing the highlight of the event last year with one the craziest wheelstands we have ever seen, another wheelstand today got away from him seeing the VL take a solid hit on the wall. We hope Danny is OK as it looked like he hurt his foot from the impact.
The Sydney Jamboree fires off at 8am Saturday the 17th March at Sydney Dragway. Visit Jamboree.com.au for details.
