The testing phase is complete, and the wait is over! Qualifying for the 2024 Brisbane Jamboree kicks off with qualifying tomorrow, paving the way for an action-packed race day on Sunday. In the meantime, checkout the action from the past three days of testing at Willowbank Raceway.
It is not just the imports at Jamboree with Pro Mod on the card as well, and how about Paul Merry in his twin turbo Nova dropping a 5.85/225MPH still wearing the radial shoes. It makes the Merry Nova the quickest car in Australia over the quarter on radials.
The quickest rotary across testing went to Sam Afchal stomping a monster 6.31/216MPH PB out of the 20B RX8
Of the six bangers and Frank Tarabay along with boys from CV Performance have the King Kong 2JZ Toyota singing with a 6.03/236MPH after only a handful of passes since its debut last weekend.
How is this! A 7 second AWD Honda Civic, the first in Australia
Wild to see Jeremy ‘Jet’ Martin’s wild VB Commodore back on track in testing for the Jamboree. Goodbye to the twins, hello supercharger! Martin started dipping into the low sixes already with the new combination as he takes on Pro Mod at Jamboree.
There were quite a few other personal bests from the pro classes as well as they take advantage of Willowbank’s brand new all concrete racing surface.
These included Jason Both who pushed his Factory Xtreme 20B Mazda6 to a new best personal mark of 6.51. Lee Docherty had the little 13b MX5 cranking with a 7.17 PB.
The brand new Concept RX9 flagship for PAC Performance continues to make gains as the team dial in more power showing potential with a 6.45 at just 190MPH
