The popular Kenda Tires 660 Drag Radial Series made the bold move to pull a round off at Benaraby Raceway which involved a change of sanction for many racers normally competing at the Willowbank rounds.
The transition was successful and the event packed the venue with eager spectators to watch the drag radial nuts do their thing.
The event was also round four of the Central Queensland Drag Racing Association Track Championship, but effectively the first with all previous rounds washed out.
The Kenda 660 Kombat class saw James Horan’s ute take the win with a 4.68 over Leigh Darke who went 5.22 with a couple of pedals.
The 660 Radial Warz bracket came down to the Bluebird of Matt McCarthy who laid down a winning 5.04 to outrun Scott Cortina also having to pedal the Holden down track.
