While we wait out the rain currently over Sydney Dragway for today’s Sydney Jamboree, last night’s testing produced some epic runs.
Kicking it off with Rod Harvey delivering a blistering 5.81 at 253mph from his 2JZ Camry, it was a PB for the team, the quickest Import pass in Australia, and Sydney Dragway’s first five second Import run.
Kelly Bettes is turning the boost up on the Jett Racing Pro Mod Mustang, Bettes went 6.02 with chutes out early, and it sets up an epic clash with the current 400 Thunder Top Fuel Champion against the current Pro Slammer Champion in Paul Mouhayet. Speaking of Mouhayet, the Moits Mustang was on on rails still with a 5.65 and 5.64 also in testing last night.
Joe Signorelli has returned to form with the GAS Racing Celica back with a 6.28.
A new World Record went to the PAC Racing team with Mario Rehayem dropping a 7.13 at 189mph in the Starlet – the quickest automatic 13B in the world.
Also from the house of PAC, Andrew “The Dentist” slammed a 6.62 from his first full pass ever with his new 20B RX8.
Racing is hoping to get under way at the Jamboree from around lunch time with the rain predicted to clear.
