The 400 Thunder Aeroflow Drag Racing Series in conjunction with Heathcote Park Raceway is disappointed to confirm that the Goldfields Thunder event, scheduled to take place on 11-12 February 2023, will not be proceeding as planned.

Heathcote has recorded more than 850 mm of rain so far this year – almost 300 mm more than the annual average rainfall for the last 100 years.

400 Thunder General Manager Jason Hedges said today, “We have completed our assessment of the overall venue, and the improvements in racer and spectator amenities that Lance and his team had planned have been de-railed by the massive amounts of rainfall in the local area over the past several months.”

He continued, “It has not been an easy decision, but we have every belief that in time that the works will be completed – if the sun could just come out for a little while and give Lance and his team a bit of a break! We will be back at Heathcote Park Raceway in the future – without a doubt!”

The Goldfields Thunder was scheduled to feature championship racing for Top Fuel Funny Car, Pro Alcohol, RDW Excavator Parts Pro Slammer, 400 Thunder Pro Mod, Glass Trade Centre Pro Stock, Top Fuel Motorcycle & Pro Stock Bike as well as a full championship round for all 400 Thunder Aeroflow Sportsman Series Categories.

The 400 Thunder Aeroflow Drag Racing Series is reviewing all possible alternatives to replace the HPR round of the series with an announcement forthcoming shortly.
