After 6 years of working with the Aeroflow Nitro Funny Cars team, driver of King Kong and the Rocket Industries Nitro Funny Car is moving on to pursue his own business opportunities it has been announced.
Throughout this time, Gosbell has worn many hats within the Aeroflow community. Starting off as a crew member, to driving Wheelstanders, Aeroflow Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars and Hot Rods, and more recently, the Rocket Industries Nitro Funny Car. Amongst all of this, Gosbell made the move from the Sunshine State to Sydney in 2020 to work in the Aeroflow race shop.
“What an incredible journey these past few years have been, learning so much about the sport and racing around the country,” said Gosbell.
“I will be forever grateful for the opportunities given to me by GC (Graeme Cowin) and Wendy, they are fostering the next generation of nitro racers and I feel pretty lucky to have been a part of that.
Gosbell played a crucial role in preparing the wide range of Aeroflow nitro burning machines when not driving them, and finished third in the NDRC Nitro Funny Car championship this season while also holding the 1/4mile speed record at 328.78MPH.
“So this is the end of a chapter but one thing is certain, the fire still burns inside and I’m not done racing yet, there’s still a lot of goals on the list and it’s time to start working towards those goals. Both on the track and in business for myself,” concluded Gosbell.
