LTFR is pleased to announce that young gun Aaron Hambridge has accepted the position of crew chief on the Fuchs Top Fuel Dragster for the 2011/12 season.
“I am delighted that Aaron has decided to join our team for next season” said team principal Phil Lamattina
“We were planning on looking overseas for a replacement crew chief and in fact I was planning on heading to the United States in the next couple of weeks. We were bouncing around ideas when Aaron’s name came up out of left field. We thought about it and I contacted Aaron who flew up to the farm for a meeting with myself, Angelo and John. We came away from the meeting really impressed with Aaron’s enthusiasm, passion to advance his career in the sport and the energy that he would bring to the team. The plan is in the off-season to move our operations to Aarons’workshop in Sydney.”
28-year-old Hambridge currently sits in first position in the Top Alcohol ANDRA championship and is a member of the next generation making their mark in the elite Nitro ranks.
“The offer from Phil comes out of the blue and I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to move into the Top Fuel Ranks,” said Hambridge.
“ The Lamattina outfit is a class act. You can see in their operation the professionalism they bring to the sport. From the time I got involved in drag racing I always wanted the opportunity to go Top Fuel racing and this is a dream come true. I can’t wait to get the car in the workshop and start working for next season. Phil also offered me the opportunity to come on board for the remainder of this season and I jumped at the chance.”
LTFR currently sits in fourth position going into round five of the ANDRA Pro Series at Willowbank Raceway this weekend.
