Australia’s quickest electrician Chris Hargrave is ready for battle in a class field of Pro Alcohol racers at the upcoming Nitro Champs as part of the Pro Drag Racing Championship within the NDRC. The Middy’s Electrical Mustang is one of ten racers looking for the win on May 2nd through 4th at Sydney Dragway.
Hoping to build on his successful race meeting last time out in Sydney where he finished runner up by a mere 3.6 feet to event winner Russell Mills, Hargrave is champing at the bit to get back on track.
“The car has been torn down almost completely in the short lay off with some new headers fitted and some other small improvements made,” said Hargrave.
When pushed further whether those changes would make a difference in performance.
“Not hugely. It’s only minor stuff but we are always thinking about ways to go faster. It’s what Drag Racers do,” laughed Hargrave.
“It’s also been an exciting little time for the team as we were involved in an event promotion with Anthem Workwear and The Workpit Workwear store in Melbourne where anyone who purchased Anthem gear in the lead up to the new store opening, went into a draw to win an expenses paid trip to join us on the crew for the weekend and the winner, Haydn Bush is going to be joining us at the Nitro Champs!”
But the good news didn’t end there with Hargrave really proud to announce that Bosch Australia have partnered with the team via their Professional Power Tools range, something which Hargrave hopes will foster an ongoing relationship for the team.
“I use the Bosch range at work and can’t speak highly enough of them. Everyone should be using them,” added Hargrave.
Sydney Dragway has been a happy hunting ground of late for the team, but the last outing was the closest we have come to a Gold Christmas Tree.
“We’d love to take the victory, but we know that we have to go out there and lay down some solid numbers to give ourselves a shot at it and the competition will be fierce. Hopefully the fantastic support from our fans in pink will give me the edge. Bring it on!” sprouted Hargrave.
