Victorian Chris Hargrave stays in the fight for the 2025 PDRC Pro Alcohol Championship title amidst a chaotic season.

Fresh off a B-Final win at the NDRC Nitro Champs in Sydney, the Middy’s Electrical Pro Alcohol Funny Car team is still riding high as they prepare for the season ending Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway next weekend.
Now sitting second in the championship just 70 points in arrears of local favourite Daniel Reed, the equation is simple, Hargrave must win it all.
“We’re so close and I’m certainly aiming for it,” said team driver Chris Hargrave.
“I’ve been fortunate to finish in the top three of the championship the last two years, but this is the closest we have been to the championship going into the Winternationals. Reedy is definitely in the box seat and we are most definitely the underdog here, but I’m ready to drop the clutch on it.”
The team have had their work cut out for them leading into the Winternationals after breaking some rockers on that final pass in Sydney. Team Principal, Steve Hargrave has been busy working the phones to the U.S., and through Darren Mayer at DMPE they have sourced replacements from none other than NHRA Top Fuel star Steve Torrence.
“How ’bout ‘dem Capco boys!” Steve Hargrave quipped in respect quickfire service they received, with parts having arrived and will be fitted to the car in time for the team head north.

The entry list currently stands at eight after the withdrawal of Jake Donnelly following his Nitro Champs accident as a drama packed season continued. With the majority of racers this season skipping a round for a variety of reasons and the loss of championship contenders Russell Mills and Jake Donnelly to accidents, the championship points have compacted to just a 116 point spread over the top six combatants. Adding another element of intrigue to the championship decider will be the elimination racing format. It will be the first time the Pro Alcohol field have contested racing under elimination conditions this season, and with points also on offer for qualifying, it all can add up to a championship upset.
It will be an action packed three days of racing – one race remains, one racer stands in front of the team, eight guys and girls are capable of winning the race – PDRC Pro Alcohol racing at its finest. Look out for the Middy’s Mustang making the charge!
