The owners of Heathcote Park Raceway have released the following statement on the immediate future of the venue.

The statement reads.
Effective as of Monday 21 July 2025 at 9am ALL OPERATIONS at HEATHCOTE PARK RACEWAY WILL CEASE.
The owners would like to thank the public and the drag racing community for their support of the years.
The decision to shut down operations is due to many factors and pressures and wasn’t taken lightly.
The combination of regulatory authorities and their notices, lack of racer numbers, rising expenses and public complaints for noise etc has now deemed the facility not to be viable.
We sincerely apologise to the racers and enthusiasts that will no longer have a facility to safely enjoy their love and passion of motorsport and to the young people who were able to let off steam in a safe and controlled environment.

Lance Warren purchased the venue off long time owner Russell Clarke in 2020 and promised grand plans to return the venue to its former glory as a premier drag strip for Victorians. The future looked promising on the back of some initial track works and the very successful return of professional racing to the venue when the Australian Top Fuel Championship rocked the venue in 2022. But since then there has been a steady decline in venue operations due to a number of factors leading to the shut down.
While it may seem a kick to the gut for the Victorian drag racing community, there are strong rumours about the venue indicating we haven’t seen the last of racing at Heathcote.
