It’s with regret that the Jason Hedges Racing team announce that they won’t be contesting the 2013 ANDRA Pro Series season.
“It’s been a tough decision to make but I feel that we have made the right decision. All of the costs that are associated with running Pro Stock at this professional level of Drag Racing, and the multiple rainouts that we have had over the last 12 months, have been the deciding factors in making this decision,” said Jason Hedges, team owner and driver of the Jason Hedges Racing Pontiac GXP.
The 2011/2012 Season had the JHR team debut a new RJ Pontiac GXP halfway through the season, which had led to the team falling short of the teams goal, of finishing top five in the points every season. During the 2010/2011 ANDRA Pro Series season running the Stroupe GTO the JHR team finished third in the championship. A great result for JHR’s third season of Pro Stock. This year the team finished sixth in the final points standings.
“When we landed the GXP, we had planned to run four test sessions, which would have meant that we would have around 12 to 14 runs of data on the car. However due to rain we only got to make two runs. This factor is evident that it hurt our final points standings,” said Hedges.
“In closing I would like to thank my sponsors, Jason Debono of J&D Custom Cabinetry and Michael Marino of Marino Stone Australia (MSA) for their support of JHR’s racing efforts. Thanks also must go to Kerry and Aaron of Tremaniac Racing for their support at the track,’ concluded Hedges.
Should all things go to plan then the JHR team will return to Pro Stock for the 2014 ANDRA season.
