The Hidden Valley Drag Racing Association (HVDRA) has celebrated its 2021 Club Champions overnight, following the successful conclusion of its title chase.

Taking out the top honours for the HVDRA in 2021 were:

Top Eliminator – Dennis Baylis (Runner-up: Mathew Abel)
Super Modified – Chris Moore (Runner-up: Ashley Smith)
Modified Bike – Allan Henry (Runner-up: Dean Hersey)
Super Street – Shaun Boyer (Runner-up: Bruce Kimm)
Street Bike – Mark Tattingham (Runner-up: Mary-Rose Henry)
Street Car – Tony List (Runner-up: Leith Darrach)
HVDRA President, Mat Abel, congratulated all of the racers, volunteers and committee members on a 2021 well done.

“It has been a great season of racing at the Hidden Valley Drag Strip, despite plenty of obstacles thrown at us thanks to COVID-19,” Abel said.

“Nitro Up North was a big success – this was the first time we had partnered with NT Major events to run as part of the Supercars round and we are very happy with how things unfolded. We are already in discussions with NT Major Events as to how the club can be involved again in 2022 on an even bigger and better scale.

“Being able to host the opening round of the 2021/2022 Summit Racing Equipment Sportsman Series in conjunction with the first Australian Drag Racing Championship (ADRC) event was another good highlight.

“And of course, all of our Club Championship rounds across the year were a great success.

“My congratulations goes to not only all of our champions and runners-up, but also to each and every racer who took part and supported the HVDRA this year, as well as all of our volunteers, committee members and other supporters who all worked together to ensure this season was the best it could be.

“Alongside our sponsors – Summit Racing Equipment, NT Electrical Group, Air Filter Wash NT, Coles Motors, Traffic Solutions NT, Zip Print, CCD Electrical and Rhinos Diesel Services – I would also like to thank Motorsports NT and the NT Government for their continued support.

“Now we turn our attentions to what is already shaping up to be an exciting and action-packed 2022 season – we can’t wait to share the details with you as soon as we can.”
