HOPE FOR SWAN HILL DRAGWAY RESURRECTION

This article brought to you by:

Swan Hill Dragway, while much loved since its opening in 2016, has had a troubled existence up until its controversial closure only a couple of year later. Now a new consortium is making plans to return drag racing to the Victorian/NSW border-town venue on the shores of the Murray River.

Constant ground movement had caused issues with the track surface levels, and despite attempts to rectify the problem, the issue could not be resolved affordably and the venue closed to drag racing operations. Now a consortium, Skid City, headed by Alec Berias and Mark Humphrey have lodged a submission to council to lease the site, seek funding, and conduct the necessary works to fix the track level problems.

Watch a recent interview here with Humphrey and Berias as they explain their plans to revive drag racing at Swan Hill.
