With the Top Comp format being trialled for the first time at an Aeroflow event, Rob Pilkington came through with a 5.84 final round win. He was a little shakey in qualifying though as you can see here!
Adam Marchant was a bit too eager in the final and a -.119 red light was the result. However, the team did run a tough 5.56 on their last lap for their troubles.
Murray O’Connor won the B Final, running 6.07 and 6.08 in eliminations as he prepared for the Top Doorslammer round in three weeks time.
Pino Priolo made a B Final appearance after a holeshot win against Ryan Moresby in the elimination round.
Russell Ladbrook top qualified in Top Comp with a -.51 5.86 in AA/FC but then went hard into the sand trap on day two and did not make it to eliminations.
After dropping a valve on day one, Shane Weston came back and recorded a PB 5.61, setting them up well for the opening round of the ANDRA Top Alcohol championship in three weeks.
Jake Chaisty top qualified, won the event and reset the national record for H/MSA on his way to a Super Comp win. The team are planning to do some travelling this year so look out for them in future Aeroflow events.
Colin Mortimore was another racer showing consistency is golden, but didn’t quite have the legs to get past Chaisty in the final.
Moreno Gullotto and Brett Glover had this close call in the first round, with Gullotto crossing the centreline and going door handle to door handle with the Mazda.
Ross Smith’s move to C/AB from A/SB appears to have been a very successful one, taking out the win in Competition Bike on his Suzuki Hayabusa.
Stan Lisle didn’t have the outright performance of other machines in the bracket but went all the way to a runner up spot.
Ross Townson gets a helping hand from son Justin to line up in qualifying.
Terry Jongen had gearbox woes that prevented him from making it to eliminations.
Les Holden became the first rider to compete in the new NB/T class, but this first round run got close to the wall.
Ryan Learmonth qualified second but an oil line issue in qualifying and then tyre spin in round one hampered the team’s efforts.
Greg James took the Extreme Performance Lambo to a win in Supercharged Outlaws with a tight 7.35 on a 7.34 in the final.
Craig Gerdes made his trip across the Nullarbor worth it with a runner up spot.
Rhiannon Allison was thumbs up in the staging lanes but a first round loss was not as cheerful.
Matt Whiteside went pop in qualifying, we hope it was just a burst panel and nothing more serious from the gorgeous ute.
Tracey De Jager ran her first six on Friday night but then crossed the centreline in round one on the warm track surface.
Sam Treasure took his third win at Perth in as many events and this one was all the more special as an Aeroflow points round. This kid is good.
Michael Lanigan made it all the way to the final in the Seasport Marine car but then went no where on the start line in the final.
Michelle Osborn was top qualifier in Modified with a 7.14 but lost a close race to Cameron Turner in round one.
We believe Brenton Baxter might have an A/MR record in his hands, given the class had no minimum coming into the event. If so, congratulations!
Renae Dobson was learning to run her Modified altered a little more independently with father Allan busy driving in Top Fuel and her partner working on a Top Fuel Motorcycle team.
Simon Lekias dropped a valve and smoked in the Motorplex. Fortunately there was no oil on the track but the smoke screen was something else!
Leigh Fallon won his second event straight in Super Sedan and was all smiles with a silver Christmas tree in hand.
Lorenzo Gullotto red lit his way out of the Super Sedan final with a -.029.
Andy Kahle defeated Australian champion John Kapiris in the second round.

Luke Nieuwhof earned a silver Christmas tree in Modified Bike, with a lucky win in the final. Opponent Justin Townson broke a chain on the line while Nieuwhof’s 60foot Kawasaki misfired to a nine second run on an 8.45 dial in.

Craig Caton took advantage of a red light from Nicholas Wroe to win the final of Super Street.
Wroe threw away an 11.112 on an 11.11 dial in with that red light.
An earlier victim of Nicholas was his sister Ashleigh, who went a painful -.001 on the tree.
Top qualifier Bernie Ellerby puts a chase on Brian Fraser in the second round.
Makenah Begg was on her game and took the win in an all girl final for Junior Dragster.
Jasmine Slamar had a big red light in the final round with the beautiful Pink Panther car.
Rocky Lamattina went some way to emulating his dad’s exploits by getting to the third round.
A cheer squad of future Top Fuel drivers celebrated Rocky’s success.
