The Lamattina Top Fuel Racing Team ended a spectacular racing weekend disappointed after finishing runner up in round four of the ANDRA Pro Series at Perth Motorplex.
The team historically has won twelve rounds in WA, but after this weekend it was the second time they have gone home defeated.
The team was in fine form for Saturday’s eliminations. Round one saw the Fuchs Top Fuel Dragster up against Andrew Cowin. Phil Lamattina blasted off defeating Cowin with a 4.82 second pass. The second round against Phil Read had the multitude of fans in disbelief with a dead heat race, the LTFR team taking victory.
The finals brought the two Sunraysia drivers head to head. Darren Morgan took the win after the Fuchs Top Fuel Dragster smoked the tyres half way down the track.
