Jim Read Racing seeking redemption at Heathcote this weekend

Hydraulink Jim Read Racing will be looking to turn around its fortunes at round five of the Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship this weekend.

While the opening round of the season at Sydney Dragway got off to a great start with the team claiming the victory and an early lead in the championship chase, lacklustre results at rounds two and three were followed by a well-publicised startline incident at round four.

Despite a rapid turnaround of only two weeks between round four and this weekend’s event at Heathcote Park Raceway in Victoria, Hydraulink Jim Read Racing is full of confidence and hopeful of a narrative-changing result.

“Round one aside, it certainly hasn’t been our time of late and we are well and truly ready to bounce back and seek redemption at Heathcote Park this weekend,” Hydraulink Jim Read Racing Team Owner, Jim Read, said.

“The crew are across everything and ready and rearing to go – I am in awe of them and my boys for all of the effort they have put in over the last two weeks to turn everything around ready for this weekend.

“Rest assured – we will be doing everything we can this weekend to make sure we walk away with good news to shout from the rooftops.”

Hydraulink Jim Read Racing driver, Phil Read, echoed Jim’s comments.

“The crew really have done a fantastic job turning around the car in such a short period of time after the incident at Sydney Dragway, they really are the true heroes,” Phil said.

“We are well and truly due for a change of fortunes, so watch this space! Now is the time for redemption, and we will be throwing absolutely everything at it to bring home the results to say thank you to all those who have supported us this season and in particular, over the last couple of weeks.

“We have said it before, but I will say it again, we have really appreciated the support and well wishes that have poured in from all over and everyone at Hydraulink Jim Read Racing is excited to be back at the track this weekend and fighting for a win!”

The Burson Auto Parts Australian Top Fuel Championship will be on-track at Heathcote Park Raceway this weekend as part of the Summernat’s Slam event across Saturday May 21 and Sunday May 22.

Two qualifying passes will be held on Saturday (2.30pm and 5.00pm) before three rounds of racing on Sunday (11.30am, 2.00pm and 4.30pm).
