Kapiris goes two from two

Peter Kapiris set up a dominant points lead in the ANDRA Pro Series following round two at the Perth Motorplex.

Kapiris made it two wins from as many rounds as he took out the final over John Zappia who would take over second in the points for his trouble.

Perth’s bonus points will come in handy for the Victorian driver whose Saratoga has found new performance levels, setting low ET of the round with a 5.81.

Kapiris’ route to the finals saw him defeat Pino Priolo in round one, Priolo having qualified for his first ever Top Doorslammer field, while in the semi finals it was Marty Dack suffering his wrath. Dack’s Auto One team deserved credit however for gaining their first round win and running two 6.0s over the weekend.

Meanwhile in Top Alcohol Rob Pilkington scored his first ever win in the category after a bizarre series of eliminations races.

With Gary Phillips having to withdraw after his 5.46 which was followed by a dramatic trip to the sand trap, Pilkington was elevated to top qualifying spot and got a first round solo. In the semis against Debbie O’Rourke, the Queenslander rolled the beams and Pilkington dodged a bullet as he smoked the tyres.

Then in the final against Adam Marchant, a pedalling, tyre shaking 7 second pass was enough to take the victory.

The full report is coming soon.
