Never mind just calmly spinning out his iconic S10 after a chute malfunction on one of the more daunting drag strip braking areas around, it was a kangaroo that grabbed Larry Larson’s attention.
The Drag Week legend was competing at the second round of the Outlaw Armageddon series at Willowbank, where some of Australia’s toughest cars get to line up next to the icon. After a 6.26 235mph pass a chute tangle saw Larson’s S10 heading for the Willowbank beach, Larson determined not to damaged the front of his truck as it started hopping about showed all his experience, “tagged the brakes and gave her a whip,” Scandinavian flick style without breaking a sweat.
The classic part of the in-car video came when Larson was describing the moment to track officials only to be distracted by the Willowbank wildlife.
