New Lane Sponsor
Sydney Dragway is proud to announce AEROFLOW Performance Products as the new sponsor of the left lane at Sydney Dragway. The ongoing support AEROFLOW Performance Products has shown in the past has further strengthened with this latest commitment to the venue and we encourage racers to support sponsors which support the Sydney Dragway venue.
Drag Race Vehicle Displays
Bunnings at Minchinbury has kindly allowed us some space for a couple of Drag Racing vehicles to be displayed in their car park on Thursday the 22ndMarch. Please advise Ray if you can be available to display your vehicle.
Sydney Speedway has also offered space for a display to promote our upcoming ANDRA Pro Series and Rocket Allstars Racing Series event at the Scott Darley $50,000 Sprintcar Challenge this weekend 17-18 March. Again if you are able to display your vehicle please let Ray know as soon as possible.
NSW Championship Series Round 5 – Date Change
Due to the Adelaide 1000 event being scheduled for 13-14-15 April we have decided to move Round 5 of the NSW Championship Series to the following weekend being 21-22 April. Even though it is in another state there is a lot of interest from racers and fans wanting to travel and race or watch the event. Also it gives everyone a chance to get back from School Holidays.
NSW Championship Series will move to Calendar Year
As mentioned in the last Sydney Dragway Competitor Track News, the NSW Championship Series will move to a calendar year. To achieve this Rounds 5 & 6 (final) of the 2011/2012 Series will also be Rounds 1 & 2 of the 2012 Series that will conclude in November 2012.
The 2011/2012 Series will conclude in May with Presentations in June as usual and the 2012 Series will continue until November.
The 2012 FUCHS Australian Nationals moving to November
Sydney Dragway is currently in discussion with the Australian National Drag Racing Association (ANDRA) regarding moving to a calendar year for the Championship Series, this has seen the proposed moving of the 2012 FUCHS Australian Nationals to November. Sydney Dragway is looking to reposition the Australian Nationals away from events like the NRL and AFL Finals. September in Sydney is the most competitive month for attracting spectators and the repositioning will strengthen the Australian Nationals’ future. A Press Release will be issued immediately when a decision is made on the final date.
