Les Rodgie’s Vanishing Point Funny Car took a big hit in Supercharged Outlaws qualifying during the 50th annual Gulf Western Oil Winternationals.
Rodgie got slipping and sliding in oil just off the starting line and headed for the wall, where the body got on to the throttle cable and gave it another big rev for good measure, the car spewing flames and smoke before coming to a stop.
Rodgie emerged unharmed but as the cliche goes, the same can not be said for the car.
