Lamattina Top Fuel Racing (LTFR) has continued its impressive form, claiming back-to-back event victories with a dominant performance at the Nitro Champs at Sydney Dragway.

Following a confidence-building outing in Mildura, the LTFR team carried that momentum into one of the biggest events on the calendar, delivering a clean sweep on race day and further cemented the team’s position as a leading force in Australian Top Fuel.
Friday’s exhibition run gave fans an early taste of what was to come, with the team laying down a strong pass and confirming a solid setup heading into qualifying.
Saturday’s qualifying sessions saw LTFR immediately on pace.
Q1: 3.823 @ 324 MPH — a clean and competitive opening pass.
Q2: Early shut-off due to tyre shake, forcing the team to back off at the hit.

Despite the minor setback in Q2, the team remained confident heading into race day.
That confidence translated into results on Sunday, with LTFR delivering consistent, controlled performances across all three elimination rounds.
Round 1: Win – 3.79 @ 323 MPH
Round 2: Win – 3.81 @ 322 MPH
A-Final: Win – 3.81 @ 320 MPH
With six cars nominated, the field was tight and competitive, making the team’s undefeated run through eliminations an even more significant achievement.
Team owner and driver Phil Lamattina praised the crew for executing under pressure across the weekend.

“The car was consistent all weekend, and that’s a credit to everyone in this team,” Lamattina said.
“We learned a lot from Friday and rolled into Sunday with a really solid package. To come away with another win at an event like the Nitro Champs is pretty special.”
The result marks consecutive event wins for LTFR and highlights the team’s growing momentum as the season builds toward its finale.
Importantly, the victory sees Lamattina retain his position at the top of the championship standings heading into the prestigious Winternationals.

Lamattina also acknowledged the role of the team’s partners and supporters in the current run of success.
“A huge thanks to FUCHS Lubricants, R&J Batteries, Muirs, YBI and everyone else that has been with us,” he said.
“We’re in a really good spot as a team, and to be able to pay our sponsors and our fans back like this feels fantastic.”
With confidence high and performance continuing to improve, LTFR now turns its focus to finishing the season strongly on the biggest stage.
