Lamattina Top Fuel Racing head to the Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway with more than the championship on the minds of the team – they continue to support causes outside of championship drag racing.
Driver for the family-owned Top Fuel team, Kelly Bettes explained, “Of course I would love to be the first female to win a championship in the Australian professional categories and make history! However, we are also very focused on supporting a worthwhile cause as part of our efforts.
“We had a tough start to the season and it would be nice to end the season with the championship and some money for those who are doing it tough, through our support of Beyond Blue.
“We will raffle off the amazing illustration donated by Monsta Scribbles. It’s an amazing prize and we are sure it will help raise some well needed funds.
The artwork is a hand drawn picture of the FUCHS LTFR Top Fuel car and it’s amazing!
“Any money that we raise will be donated to Beyond Blue.”

The support of a great cause aside, Kelly and the team have a campaign of their own – concentrating on securing a Top Fuel championship for her team.
LTFR team manager Phil Lamattina hopes to continue the run of form that has seen the fast femme take a 33-point lead into the final round of the series.
“We are leaving no stone unturned, we will be going all out to win rounds, we want that championship,” smiled Lamattina.
Bettes added, “Damien (Harris) is just 33 points behind, so we have to go to Willowbank with the intention of winning the event.
“It’s going to be a tough field, so we have to be on our game every single time we go to the startline, we are not taking anything for granted.
“We have a great car, a great team – I have said it before – I’ll do everything I can to secure the team, the sponsors, my family – and me – the best result possible!”
