MANAGEMENT CHANGE OVER AT WILLOWBANK RACEWAY

Long term Willowbank Raceway stalwart Harry Rowsell has officially retired from his position as the Operations Manager at Willowbank Raceway. Following the retirement of, Willowbank Raceway has announced the appointment of Andrew Casos as the new Operations Manager at the venue.

“We cannot thank Harry enough for everything he has done for Willowbank Raceway and importantly coming out of retirement to take on his recent role as Operations Manager,” stated Willowbank Raceway President Tony Wedlock.

“The Board and I, our staff and our fantastic Green Army of volunteers wish Harry and Sharon all the very best for their retirement. Harry has been an institution at the venue having filled a number of roles from volunteer, Board member and as part of permanent staff.

On a personal note, I thank Harry for our friendship and his council over the time I have been President.”

Incoming Operations Manager, Andrew Casos is no stranger to the venue or drag racing, and is the current NDRC series race starter.

“For some time now, we have been working with Andrew, discussing opportunities to be a part of the team at Willowbank Raceway. The entire Board and I are extremely excited to have Andrew commence his new role with Willowbank Raceway.” said Wedlock.

“Andrew brings with him a wealth of knowledge about the venue having commenced as a volunteer in 1994 and has grown within our volunteer ranks performing a number of key roles as a volunteer. Additionally, within his career, Andrew has always had a high focus around customer service and satisfaction. We are excited to turn a corner and look forward on supporting Andrew in delivering a more customer focused experience at the venue.”

Casos continued, “My heart has always been with Willowbank Raceway and to start my role at the place I have grown up around is a dream come true.

“I have a lot of ideas around how we can make visiting the venue more enjoyable for our spectators, racers and volunteers’ point of view, and I cannot wait to get to work on implementing a new strategy for Willowbank Raceway moving forward.

“I am excited about the future for myself, and the opportunity in front of me in my work life, but more importantly I am excited about the changes that we can implement.”
