Rugby League fans are set for an out of this world experience this Saturday when Mark Mariani and the Make-A-Wish Top Fuel Dragster becomes the half time entertainment at the round 5 fixture between the Wests Tigers and the Cronulla Sharks at Campbelltown Stadium.
Gone is the usual half time entertainment that fans have grown accustomed to – Mariani Motorsports is bringing their land locked missile, with all of it’s 10,000 horsepower and plenty of Nitromethane fuel to light up the faces of the large crowd expected for the twilight game.
“We are absolutely honoured that we have been invited to showcase drag racing to an entirely new crowd” Mariani beamed. “The National Rugby League is one of the most popular forms of sport in the country and with the Nitro Champs coming up on 7-8th May, what better way to introduce the sport in the most spectacular fashion possible!”.
The Make-A-Wish Top Fuel dragster is one of the most recognisable stars of Australian Drag racing, and the car will be on display with team driver Mark Mariani on hand to sign autographs and guide new fans through just what Drag Racing is all about.
“Drag Racing is the most spectacular Motorsport there is – It is the only sport that registers on the Richter Scale! We just finished a display with several fire ups at the Australian F1 Grand Prix, and we blew away those fans with the sounds and smells of a Top Fuel Dragster. We just can’t wait to show off in front of a new crowd at Campbelltown Stadium!”
The NRL Fixture is scheduled to begin at 5.30 pm, with the Mariani Motorsport start up demonstration to take place at the half time break.
