Spinozzi Racing is pleased to announce they have re-signed Michael Marriott as the team’s crew chief for the next 18 months.
Michael’s original contract was for 12 months for the 2014 ANDRA Pro Stock season and has proven to be a great success according to team co-owner and driver Emilio Spinozzi.
“I’m ecstatic with the results that we have posted in the last 12 months since Michael has joined the team,” he said. “The new Camaro has been extremely hard work and has had its gremlins; I think Michael has shaken them out now.
“Its a combination of both set up and power and that’s why Rino Conte at RC Performance Engines is always working hard on our engine and in house cylinder head and manifold development program.
“Pro Stock is a tough class and is forever moving forward, the 6.87 @ 200mph time posted by Lee Bektash just goes to show how hard the other teams are working.
“At the recent Nationals the teams that were not there at the top and are regularly in the top five will be working hard to get back there and this is what makes Pro Stock so exciting.”
Marriott was of the same opinion regarding the team’s performance.
“First of all I want to thank Emilio and Adamo Spinozzi for giving me the opportunity to return to the team next season,” he said. “I feel that we have worked well as a team and we’re extremely happy with the results.
“This has been a season of innovation and learning. Adamo and I have been working on a unique clutch program. Mark Menscer made the trip out recently for the season ending Nationals at Sydney Dragway to assist with the shock absorber program. Rino Conte has provided the power which has enabled the team to become the quickest Chevy powered Pro Stock team and second quickest car in the country.”
Spinozzi Racing’s 2014 highlights included:
– Runner up at the 2014 X Champs.
– Running 6.975 during the first qualifying session of the 2014 Fuchs Winternationals. At the time this was the quickest and fastest Pro Stock run in Australian drag racing history.
– Two weeks later during testing in Sydney the team repeated the effort with a 6.970.
– Quickest and fastest Chev powered Pro Stock team in the country – 6.93 seconds.
– Going .986 to the 60 foot. Australia’s quickest 60 footing Pro Stock car.
