The “Greatest rides on show” is the tag line for Meguiars Motor Ex, the most prestigious motor show in the country. Not only is the event used to showcase the country’s greatest custom street machines and hot rods, it is increasingly being used to debut the latest drag racing creations, with the number of drag racing vehicles on display growing each year.
Before we get to the drag racing show pieces, the highlights were the Meguiar’s Superstars awards.
Shawn Muscat picked up the Hot Rod Best of Breed award for his Ford Tourer.
The Street Machine Best of Breed award went to Leisa Chinnock’s XF Falcon which also accumulated a bundle of other awards.
Iconic customiser Chip Foose was in the house checking out what Australia has to offer in the modified car realm.
Chip’s pick of the event was Adam LeBrese’s XC Falcon Coupe!
A Pro Comp category has been developed to show case what the drag racing world has to offer. Sometimes altered and Outlaw Nitro funny car racer Robert West picked up first place with his blown LH Hatchback Torana.
Second was Paul Todarello’s stunning twin turbo Pro Street Blown Torana, this is no trailer queen either, with the car set to debut early next year or sooner.
Peter Kotsikis blown LJ claimed third place.
There was a bevy of other drag cars on display like this stunning set up from Davies Racing.
Steve Barnett had his new RX3 on show from the PAC stable.
Brad Cox unveiled his one tonner with plans to be the quickest Holden in the country outright.
“LA Hooker” has landed on our shores, the to be Ron Capps driven Outlaw Nitro funny car was on display with “Dark Horse” promoting the upcoming November extravaganza.
The Wild Bunch Association had a setup complete with deafening fire ups.
Pro Street was well represented!
Mike Duggan’s Outlaw 10.5 Nova will hit the blacktop soon.
Dean Wallan amazing altered made it first public appearance.
